One of our family’s favorite things to do is to go camping and at present we have been fulltime RVing for 1 year. As our family includes three dogs they are full timing with us. Unfortunately in our area mosquitoes can be classified as one of our “State Birds”. Keeping mosquitoes away from our children and pets seems to be a fulltime job.

It’s commonly known that mosquitoes can carry the Heartworm Larva that can infect and eventually kill your dog. Using a product such as Heartgard is strongly recommended in the fight against Heartworm.

Along with using a treatment such as Heartgard we use a product from BioGreen Systems called BioSol to help keep the mosquitoes away from them in the first place. BioSol mixed with water makes an economical non-toxic mosquito repellent that when sprayed on the fur of your pet will help keep mosquitoes and other pests away.

BioSol is effective and safe to use on our skin also, and is non-toxic so it will not be dangerous to ourselves, our children and our pets. Using common name brand bug repellents can be dangerous to our health especially with young children who may be inclined to put their fingers in their mouths. Our pets are also at risk because of their tendency to lick things. BioSol is non-toxic and at most will leave a bad taste in their mouths.

This is only one of BioSol’s many uses. To learn more visit: http://www.goinggreen2day.com/Feature%20Product%20Archives.htm#BioSol…..

or visit Our BioGreen Systems Online Store at: http://www.biogreensystems.com/gwfjeld/?page=/productsystems_smart.shtml

Going Green…With Green Integrity!

At BioGreen Systems, Inc. we take great pride in being able to provide a complete line of high quality “Green Products” for Personal Care, Home Care and Laundry Care. These are the kinds of products that we all use on a daily basis. What is most important to you in your search for “Green Products” to use in your home or office? Is it the quality, the value, the benefits to you and the environment, the availability, the company’s “green integrity” or all of the above? Whatever your answer, BioGreen can meet your needs.

BioGreen’s products are the very best that science and technology has to offer, they are not tested on animals and are truly non-toxic, earth sensitive, “green” products. They are not only safe, but also, cost effective and multi-purpose. (Example: BioGreen’s EcoPure, mixed 20 to 1 with water, costs less than 50 cents per quart!) Most importantly, the use of BioGreen’s products will help protect not only you and your family, but also the surrounding environment. The products are readily available, just a “click” away when ordered online and shipped directly to you. Since BioGreen’s products are so highly concentrated, (many are mixed with water before use, which saves you money) they require less packaging, which means they are more economical to ship, thereby having less of an impact on the environment and your wallet. By careful packing BioGreen is able to ship the products in the least amount of packaging possible. With our use of packing “peanuts” made from cornstarch, which dissolve in water and are completely biodegradable, demonstrates just one more way that BioGreen gives evidence of our “green integrity”.

What Is Tea Tree Oil???

The following is taken from the BioGreen Systems Online Information Library.

Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil derived from the Australian Melaleuca tree, was first Introduced to Western culture in the late 18th century when botanist Joseph Banks observed the Aborigines making an oily poultice that had amazing healing properties for a wide variety of external skin problems.
Australia has very high standards for the quality control of Tea Tree Oil. As we kick off the new year of 2010, it is crazy how much shopping we historically do here in America and world-wide and the trends are increasing. Whether it be frequent trips to the grocery store as we keep our kitchen's stocked for wonderful meals and tasty treats or those sometimes dreaded, yet skillful "6 bags on each arm" walks through the packed local mall, it all adds up to so much unnecessary waste. One of the most blatant examples of this waste is disposable shopping bags.

An estimated 100 billion plastic shopping bags are consumed each year in the USA, according to the Wall-Street Journal. Most plastic bags end up in landfills and the rest often end up in rivers, ponds, lakes, streams or in the sea, where animals can ingest or become entangled in them. Household waste, shopping bags included, increases by more than 25% on average in November and December. Considering how many shopping bags are consumed and wasted at this time of year, the time is now to spread the word about the positive benefits of eco-friendly reusable shopping bags to influence our families, friends and communities.

Adopting a BYOB strategy in our individual shopping habits is a simple way to do just that. If we can raise awareness at this time, the positive impact for the environment is incalculable for 2010 and well into the future. Several cities have already made gradual but significant progress in promoting the use of eco-friendly non woven reusable grocery bags in recent years. Motivating consumers with plastic and paper bag bans, discounts at the register for reusable bag usage and tax motivations are a few to speak of.

Right here in America, the San Jose City Council recently passed one of the nation’s strictest bans on plastic and paper shopping bags. This is a big victory for the Bay Area, which has one million plastic bags per year accumulating in and along the San Francisco Bay. San Jose becomes the latest bay area city to enact some type of ban on disposable shopping bags; others include San Francisco and Palo Alto. Tracy Seipel of the San Jose Mercury News reported that it was actually ONE man who really jump-started the ban, another great example of the power of one person. Here’s an excerpt:

While visiting his sister-in-law in Taipei, Kansen Chu, elected to San Jose city council in 2007, went grocery shopping and was surprised to get charged for plastic grocery bags. The next day, he brought his own cloth bags back to the store. "I guess the question," said Chu, "was, Why not San Jose?" He began a conversation with the city's environmental services staff, which later moved to council committee discussions.

Save the Bay’s 4th annual report on the most garbage-strewn sites in the region further demonstrates the need for bringing your own shopping bags. The 50-year-old environmental advocacy group focused on 10 specific bay-area sites where almost 15,000 plastic bags were retrieved in one day last year in their report. Here’s an excerpt of an article in the San Francisco Chronicle by Kelly Zito.

According to (Save the Bay's) research, Californians use about 19 billion plastic bags each year, 3.8 million in the Bay Area. The average use time for the bags - made using about 12 million barrels of oil each year in the United States - is about 12 minutes. In addition to the hundreds of years it can take for a plastic bag to decompose in a landfill, the bags also force downtime when fed into traditional recycling equipment. Typically, the bags get wound into conveyor belts or gears and must be cut out by hand.

Ten US cities have banned plastic bags so far, five within the past year. Even Mexico City enacted a ban on plastic shopping bags, which went into effect in August. The city of 20 million now faces the realities of effective enforcement, which is not easy when the Mexico City Chamber of Commerce estimates there are 35,000 vendors in Mexico City’s downtown area alone.

Bans on plastic bags aren't the only effective way to reduce harmful waste caused by disposable bags. PlasTaxes, which tax consumers at the register for using plastic bags when shopping, were first introduced by the Irish. John Roach of National Geographic reported last year on the worldwide momentum that’s been building since Ireland instituted a PlasTax in 2003. The Irish showed they could reduce plastic bag consumption by 90% or more. Momentum is growing across the world, particularly in America. From Washington, DC to Edmonds, WA to North Pole, AK, communities and governments are spurring an international trend to reduce the harmful environmental effects of disposable shopping bags. Even major retail stores like Target and CVS are taking action by enacting discounts at the register for customers who choose to BYOB or just carry-out their items without a bag.

For the naysayers, it’s convenient to ignore recent momentum in reducing disposable bag waste. But to some, the wide-spread adoption of eco-friendly reusable bags is inevitable. Look at the way smoking is becoming taboo in America. Indoor smoking bans have caught on like wild fire. In the same way, who is to say the use of disposable bags won’t become taboo at some point in the near future? The use of eco friendly reusable grocery bags is definitely gaining steam. Our individual choices to bring our reusable bags when shopping can go a lot farther than we think. That's what BYOB is all about, setting a proactive example for others to set a trend that will help our planet, its valuable finite resources and secure its animals' habitats.

Of course, plastic and paper bags should be recycled and it's important to remember most large retailers including Albertsons and Wal-Mart will recycle plastic bags for you. That being said, a BYOB shopping strategy can make your life so much easier because there is no longer a need to accumulate that cupboard full of plastic bags or figure out what and when to do something about it. Keeping a few reusable bags in your car or backpack is a good way to ensure you have them when needed. So give back to our planet by remembering to BYOB! Whether it be at a convenience store, the mall, or while grocery shopping, we can make a difference for the environment and help raise awareness one transaction at a time. Through the fight to eliminate disposable shopping bag waste, we are giving a gift to our Planet, the finest gift of all, sustainability and reusage.

The “Use It Once and Throw It Away” Mentality

Many a fortune has been made in this country on this “Use It Once and Throw It Away” way of thinking. Also many a landfill has been filled to overflowing with the same way of thinking. Because of this mentality, it’s my opinion that, We Americans have become some of the most wasteful people on the face of the Earth. If it’s not the right color, “Throw it Away”, if it’s last year’s model or style, “Throw it Away”, I just want a new one “Throw the Old One Away”.

To make a difference we need to “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle AND RETHINK” If we want to have part in saving our environment we need to do a hard “Rethink” of the way we do things. When shopping; do we purchase products intended to be reused, or to be discarded after one or two uses? Just one example of this in our “High Speed” hectic lifestyle is plastic “Silverware” or Styrofoam Plates and food containers. There’s an endless list of other examples and if we considered just a fraction of these we’d be here all week.

Another area we can consider is shopping. Do we use paper or plastic? There is a third and better choice; we should be using washable reusable cloth or recyclable vinyl bags. The devastating results caused by the use and improper disposal of the popular “T-Shirt” bag (the light plastic bag with “handles” most retailers use to put purchases in) are well documented. One site that really got my attention was "Bags on the Run" on their “Environment” page.

When shopping; do we give consideration to the amount of packaging a product has? Products that have more packaging than necessary waste resources in the manufacturing process and have more to discard after the purchase. Another thing to look at is the type of packaging, is it made of renewable recyclable materials or non-renewable non-recyclable materials. The first thing that comes to mind here for me is; are the packaging materials and/or product itself made from petroleum products? Is there a non-petroleum or natural alternative? Keeping in mind that less dependence on oil is a good thing. Think about purchasing economy size refills and refilling the dispensing containers. This will reduce the demand for plastic containers and the refills are usually a better bargain for your money, so in the process saving you $Green$.

Also when shopping do we make a lot of little trips to the store or do we make a list and make one well planned trip? The fuel savings alone could be 50% or more. Carpooling is another excellent way to make a difference. Do you know of elderly or infirm persons who would like a ride to the store? This would be helping them out and saving fuel at the same time.

Please give these thoughts some consideration. One example of this is my hobby of refurbishing and repurposing older computers. My wife has at times compared our home to a computer graveyard, since there are computer parts in practically every room of our house. As technology advances the older parts get harder to acquire hence my tendency to hang on to parts.

I know many good reusable parts as well as complete computers are getting thrown away and are finding their way into landfills when they could easily be repurposed or recycled. This is hazardous to our environment because of the chemicals and heavy metals in the electronic parts, circuit boards and picture tubes.

A good example of this is computer monitors, the older picture tube type or CRT types have large amounts of lead in them. I personally know people who have bought a new computer and have put the old one in the garbage. Most of the time, when purchasing a new computer, you can reuse the monitor, keyboard and mouse you already have. This can help you save money when buying the new computer because you don’t have to purchase the monitor and other hardware, just the tower. In this case making the effort to “Go Green” can save you $Green$.

Viruses are another reason people buy a new computer. I’ve had computers given to me because they’ve gotten a virus in them and people figure they are no longer any good. Viruses damage the information you have on the computer they do not damage the hardware i.e. the tower or more specifically the hard drive. Worst case scenario you’ll lose your information and personal data. I realize and understand that this in itself can be disastrous, but the physical hard drive can be erased, reformatted and then reused. There’s no need to throw them away.

In our area there are “Thrift” or “Second Hand” stores that benefit the handicapped. If you’ve decided to upgrade your computer consider donating your old one. This keeps it out of landfills and benefits less fortunate persons in your area. Be sure to completely erase or “Secure Erase” your information before you donate it.

I don’t think there are many municipalities that do not have some sort of recycling program in place. Do a little research and make the effort to recycle, not only your computer parts, but all of your old electronics. This, along with recycling the standard things like, paper, glass, aluminum etc., can have a positive impact on our environment.

This is just one more way we can “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” and all it takes is a little bit of “Rethinking”. What we use directly correlates with what we discard. We want to encourage everyone to keep this in mind when making choices about the products you use on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Choose “Environmentally Friendly”, “Non-Toxic”, “Truly Green” products whenever possible.

Another way our family is making an effort to make a “Green Difference” is by the use of non-toxic, eco-friendly “Green Products” from BioGreen Systems Inc. Our choice of products, the products we use on a regular basis for cleaning, laundry and personal care, are products that are truly “Green”. We think of our accomplishments and often times we dwell on the things we didn’t achieve. It’s quite common, when we realize that the goals we had made for ourselves did not materialize as we had planned, we may feel that we’ve somehow failed.

Really what each of us needs to do, individually, is to learn to move towards our goals one step at a time. Don’t make promises to ourselves or others that we do not have the willingness or the ambition to reach. Achieving our goals, in every aspect of our life, takes a daily effort…focus on where you want to go and work towards that goal.

Many people will make their “New Year’s Resolution’s” but by the end of January they have forgotten about them or have let others convince them that they will not succeed. With the increased focus, during the past year, on “Going Green” many have conscientiously tried to set goals in their lives to be more “Green”. How have you done? Do you believe that the goals you have made in your everyday life, in regards to making “green choices”, will actually make a difference? What you believe and what you do determines what you get. Most people think of Grammar School, Junior High, High School, Technical School and/or Collage or even higher education. I feel that every person should make an effort to learn something new each and every day. If we learn something new each day the day was a success.

One thing that can help everyone in this ongoing learning process, regardless of age, is providing a safe toxin free environment in which to learn. It’s been shown that a good breakfast aids in the concentration and comprehension of students. With this in mind it makes sense that not just the foods we consume but all of the things we are exposed to on a daily basis will also have an effect on our ability to learn and retain the things we learn.

It’s also been shown that exposure to the harmful chemicals in the household products that most Americans use on a daily basis contributes to health problems, both physical and mental.

Consider these sobering facts:

Ø More than 7 million accidental poisonings occur each year, with more than 75% involving children under age 6!
—The Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons

Ø According to the U.S. Poison Control Centers, "A child is accidentally poisoned every 30 seconds at home..."

Ø The Average American Uses about 25 Gallons of toxic, hazardous chemical products per year in their home...A major portion of these can be found in household cleaning products.
—"Prosperity Without Pollution,"by Joel S. Hirschorn and Kirsten V. Oldenburg, 1991

Ø Women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than those who work away from home. The 15-year study concluded it was as a direct result of the much higher exposure rate to toxic chemicals in common household products!
—Toronto Indoor Air Conference 1990

Ø The toxic chemicals in household cleaners are three times more likely to cause cancer than air pollution.
---Environmental Protection Agency report in 1985

Ø Cancer rates have increased since 1901 from only 1 in 8,000 Americans, to 1 in 3 today! By the year 2010, this disease will afflict 1 of every 2 individuals!
—American Cancer Society

Ø Of chemicals commonly found in homes, 150 have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer, and psychological abnormalities.
—Consumer Product Safety Commission

What can we do to increase our odds in this toxic world? We don’t have full control over every aspect of our lives. For example we cannot control the types of products used in public facilities, rest rooms, waiting rooms, offices etc. One thing we all have control over is the types of products we expose ourselves to in our own homes. What about the toxins we have already accumulated in our bodies?

The first thing to do is rid our homes and personal work spaces or study spaces of the dangerous products we’ve been accustomed to purchasing. The next step is to use an effective cleansing system or detoxification system; this will help to purge the harmful toxins from our bodies. One excellent “Cleanse” or “Detoxification System” is the BioCleanse System from BioGreen Systems Inc., but this will be a waste of time if we do not change the way we view the products we’ve been using. We need to detoxify and follow up with a change in habits, our buying habits.

This is where the learning something new each and every day comes into play. We need to learn to buy safer non-toxic products instead of just following the same old routine or what has become a habit. The human body and mind are amazing things and the ability to learn is limited only by our desire to learn. Use the opportunity and make the change in buying habits for yourself and your loved ones. Each and every one of us have the power and the ability to accomplish anything we set our mind too. Let’s educate ourselves in a “Greener Way of Life”. “You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.” Zig Ziglar

Cold and Flu season is just around the corner and there’s nothing we can do about it…OR MAYBE THERE IS!!!

For more than eight years now I’ve used, and I’m a firm believer in, a product called “Immune System Booster”. “Immune System Booster” is a targeted nutritional supplement from BioGreen Systems Inc.

In the early and mid 80’s I was making my living as a production welder. Welding is a dirty job and as a result I was having some respiratory problems, I would catch a cold and be unable to shake it and it would often turn into Bronchitis.

After using the “Immune System Booster” as directed I noticed I wasn’t getting sick nearly as often and when I did get sick I was able to recover faster. Over the years I’ve developed a daily routine of taking my “Immune System Booster” along with vitamin C and a multi-vitamin also from BioGreen Systems Inc.. I now seldom catch a cold, even when others around me and those I come into contact with have colds or the Flu and I strongly believe I owe this to the “Immune System Booster”.

The following is from the
BioGreen Systems Inc. website.

Your immune system is the most complex system in the human body; it is what guards you against illness from viruses, bacteria and disease. If it weren't for your immune system, every cold, flu or even a small cut on your finger could be fatal. It manufactures the antibodies needed to fight substances, which can cause disease and must be kept strong to do its job effectively. Age, poor diet, stress and external germs can weaken the immune system. Also, the nutrients found in foods for a healthy immune system are weaker due to environmental toxins in the air, water and chemically treated agricultural soils. IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOSTER combines proven effective Guaranteed Potency Herbs, herbal extracts and phytonutrients to stimulate the immune system and aid your body in fighting illnesses.

IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOSTER'S natural defense formulation combines herbs that boost immune system function, kills bacteria and helps your body adapt to the change of season.

I encourage everyone to give “Immune System Booster” a try. You’ll be glad you did.

"Going Green" Mind, Body and Soul

As we continue to educate ourselves on the importance of “Going Green” in our homes we become more keenly aware of the reasons we need to “Go Green”. By using “Green Products” we’ve learned that we not only help create a safer home environment for ourselves and our families, we also have the opportunity to protect the environment.

Did you ever think, though, that you also need to help your body “Go Green”? When you consider this thought it’s important to remember that it’s next to impossible for any of us to avoid the toxins and pollutants in the air, water, food and soil that we are exposed to on an everyday basis. They originate in the pesticides, industrial waste, chemicals in products we use in our homes, food additives, our treated water systems, among other things that constantly surround us.

Consider the following facts:

· Many drinking water systems in the United States contain over 700 chemicals, including dangerously high levels of lead

· Municipal water systems are the repositories of millions of tons of chemicals, waste products, fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, much of which finds its way into our food supply.

· Approximately 3,000 chemicals are intentionally added to our food, and close to 10,000 chemicals are used in the processing and storage of food items, in the form of solvents, emulsifiers and preservatives.

· Our bodies are unable to discard these toxic compounds fast enough to maintain anything near optimal levels of health. These toxins are stored in our tissues, and the levels keep increasing.

· It’s not surprising that in 1979 the Environmental Protection Agency declared that up to 20% of all deaths in the U.S. were caused by the harmful compounds found in the air we breath, the water we drink and the food we eat.

By using “green products” in our homes we can limit unnecessary exposure to toxins. From the facts noted above, on our website Going Green 2day and information available from Parent Awareness Center, we can gain knowledge of the effect toxins have, not only on our health, but also the environment. Providing a safe home environment for our children, so they have the opportunity to learn and reach their full potential, is also very important.

It’s necessary not only to provide our children with a safe learning environment in our homes, but also a safe living environment. Interesting thought, isn’t it? With the world’s focus on protecting the environment and “Going Green”, it’s only logical that we start in our own homes. By “Going Green” in our homes we not only make our homes safer for our families, we also have an impact in preserving the environment that surrounds us. One way we can do this is by carefully choosing the products we use on a daily basis and simply switch to using safe, non-toxic, “Green Products”. Recently, I became acquainted with a very informative website that I would like to bring to everyone’s attention, http://www.parentawarenesscenter.com/. This website is dedicated to providing parents with information on how they can help keep their children safe by “Going Green”.

Here’s an excerpt from Parent Awareness Center:

How to Go Green

Good parenting begins with educating yourself so that you can make the best decisions in raising and caring for your family. Parent Awareness Center is dedicated to providing free comprehensive information on "How and Why to Go Green", eco friendly choices, health, possible health hazardous that could effect the well being of your children, parenting articles, good parenting tips, and help for the working parent. As caring parents, we do everything possible to protect our families. We always buckle them securely into car seats, make sure they eat right, schedule regular visits to the pediatrician, and insist they wear helmets and protective gear at play. What most of us don't realize is that one of the biggest threats to our children is the arsenal of toxic chemicals that we have in our homes. Going Green just makes sense!

Here are some startling statistics:

EPA surveys find that indoor air is 3-5 times more chemically polluted than outdoor air.

After analyzing 2,983 chemicals used in personal care products, 884 were found to be toxic. (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health)

According to the National Safety Council, more children under the age of four die of accidental poisonings at home than are accidentally killed with guns at home.

Asthma is the number one cause of absentees in the schools today.(Asthma Awareness Online)

Of chemicals commonly found in homes, 150 have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer, and psychological abnormalities. (Consumer Product Safety Commission)

At Parent Awareness Center you will find a wealth of information about how you can “Go Green” in your home and in the process make your home safer for your family. The information they provide shows how important it is to be aware of the potential harm the products we now may be using can have on our family’s health and the environment. Parent Awareness has the same purpose and goals as our Going Green 2Day Blog and our Going Green 2Day Website have, which is, to help everyone we can to make the “Green Choice” to use “Green Products” in their homes. By doing this we can help educate ourselves, our children, our friends and others about the importance of “Going Green” and impress upon them how easy it is to do so.

Choose to Make a “Green” Choice!--Choose "Green Minded" Businesses

I have a few friends that I would call mentors, two of whom are Mr. Leroy Cox, CEO and Advisor of BioGreen Systems Inc., along with Mr. Ron Torel, recently appointed, President of BioGreen Systems Inc. Many times I’ve heard them say, (I’m paraphrasing here); “Set your goals and then surround yourself with those who are positive, supportive and have the same interests and goals as you have”. Teamwork is essential to achieving goals of any kind.

The choice whether or not to “Go Green” in our lives is a decision each one of us has personal control over. One area we may not have considered involves the companies that we do business with or purchase products from. Of course we cannot control others, but we can choose who to do or not do business with. We can help to make a difference far beyond our own personal corner of the world by choosing to do business with companies and corporations that are truly making an effort to make a “Green Difference”. In other words, create a group or “Team” of “Green Minded” businesses to work with. The way we, as consumers, spend our money sends a powerful message to Corporate America. With the economy in the situation it’s now in, that message can be louder and stronger than ever!

I was recently introduced to a printing company that is making a “Green Difference”. Bacchus Press is a Certified Green Printer in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a member of “Bay Area Green Business Program” and is also FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified. I knew the importance of recycling the plastic bags our store purchases are placed in each time we shop. But, this website was quite an eye-opener, showing how many of these plastic bags, that we all have used, are not being recycled and are ending up in the environment and the damage that they are causing.

Here’s some information from Bags On the Run:

STATISTICS:

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) estimates that plastic bags take between 500-1000 years to break down in landfills.

Plastic bags result in killing huge numbers of birds, whales, seals, turtles and other animals every year.

According to a Wall Street Journal article “A Guide to Going Green”…”The EPA says solid waste, per person has nearly doubled to 4.4 pounds a day from 2.7 pounds in the past 35 years—filling up landfill sites and wasting materials that could be reused to save natural resources and energy.” Reusing items like our Bags on the Run reusable bags is an effective way to reduce your day-to-day use of materials such as plastic or paper bags which end up in landfills.

I urge you to visit: http://www.bagsontherun.com/ and check out their reusable, economical, “green” bags. This is just one more step any one of us can take to help protect and preserve our environment. With the cost of fuel as high as it is we tend to stay a lot closer to home these days, none the less it’s still a nice break to be able to get out and commune with nature. While doing this it really reinforces upon our family the responsibility we have to do everything in our power to protect our environment.

Staying closer to home does have its benefits, it saves fuel which is a good thing and we have less travel time which means we have more time to sit in the woods and enjoy nature.

When we travel we look for and utilize the recycling bins that are now in most recreational areas. If we don’t find a recycling drop off point in the park we happen to be in, we carry our recyclables with us to the nearest park or rest area that has these facilities.

It bothers us to see the garbage cans full of glass bottles, aluminum cans, plastic jugs and paper that could be easily dropped into the proper recycling bins. Many times this is in an area where the recycling bins are provided. Some people, depending on where they may live, might not be accustomed to the recycling programs that most urban areas have adopted. Unfortunately we have observed some who are just too lazy to put forth the effort.

Another area we would encourage everyone, who like us enjoy RVing, to consider is the types of products and chemicals we use in and around our RVs. Many household products contain chemicals which, even in very small quantities, can be detrimental to wildlife and/or foliage. If you’ve read some of our other posts I’m sure you’ve noticed that we’ve mentioned our family uses products from BioGreen Systems. BioGreen offers an extensive line of products that are Eco-Friendly and Non-Toxic. These products can be used safely around children and pets. We encourage everyone to use Eco-Friendly Non-Toxic products everywhere you may roam.

Camping in the woods also brings up the subject of bugs. Here in Minnesota that includes mosquitoes and ticks. One way to help combat these pesky insects is to use a product from BioGreen Systems called BioSol. Mixed with water and sprayed on the skin, or on the fur of your pet, makes a good insect repellent. Sprayed on the screens and around the door openings helps keep the insects away.

For more Eco-Friendly ideas please take the time to visit our "Green" Alternatives page at our website Going Green 2Day.

Is it a Case of “Greenwashing”... Revisited

This past June 16th I posted a short note called "Is it a Case of 'Greenwashing?" Last week my wife ran across this article she had saved from the Mankato Free Press. I thought it deserved posting.

Article from the Mankato Free Press, August 5, 2007 by staff writer Tim Krohn.

"Green-Washed" companies in it for Green-Back$ ---- Not Saving Earth

The rugged, yet sensitive trucker in the television ad is driving his big rig along a drab, sepia-toned desert highway. As the big, diesel 18-wheeler heads down the road the sky behind the truck turns bright blue, the grass greens, butterflies and birds dart in the air. A pretty young woman walking through a field of now colorful wildflowers smiles coyly at the trucker.

I figured it must be an advertisement for air freshener or maybe an organic lawn fertilizer. Turns out it's put out by some coalition of international energy conglomerates. Their message isn't just that they're burning fossil fuels that spew out a bit less mercury and carcinogens - they're apparently cleaning the landscape to its pristine state every time they fire up a coal plant or refine some more gasoline.

Big polluting corporations trying to frame themselves as environmentally friendly -"greenwashing" themselves - isn't anything new. It started around 1990 on the 20th anniversary of Earth Day as companies scrambled to cover their pitiful environmental records. Nothing like a slick ad campaign to detract from the Exxon Valdez oil slick.

Recently Ford touted its environmental commitment by focusing on its hybrid vehicles - even though those hybrids account for one-half of one percent of its fleet and Ford makes money mostly from its big fleet of F-150 trucks which had the worst-in-class fuel efficiency.

BP is even bolder. The gas company's logo, a green and yellow sunburst, resembles the sunflower logo of many green groups, and they have a slick ad campaign called "Beyond Petroleum." It's supposed to show their commitment to alternative, renewable and low-polluting fuels. Never mind they're being sued for letting hundreds of thousands of gallons of crude oil spill onto the Alaskan tundra or that they face criticism around the world for human rights, pollution and safety violations. BP sold solar panels that will save a half-million tons of carbon dioxide over their lifetime. Still, the company's fossil fuels emit some 1,300 million tons of carbon dioxide every year.

These days corporate America is refining the way it presents its green facade.

Wal-Mart is doing everything short of sending their "associates" to our homes to screw in the new energy-saving compact fluorescent bulbs in its effort to help us be kind to the Earth.

Bank of America says it will spend $20 billion for sustainable projects.

IBM - known as Big Blue - has launched a Big Green campaign.

If this keeps up, I expect to see the CEO of Exxon holding hands with a Greenpeace volunteer singing "Kumbaya" on the banks of a sparkling clear river teeming with happy fish…Oh, wait, Greenpeace is already spoken for - by McDonald's! Not long ago that would seem farfetched, but McDonald's has actually teamed up with Greenpeace to fight deforestation in South America.

I don't know about you, but I don't feel better knowing short-sighted, money-driven multinational corporations say they're going to take care of our environmental problems.
I still like real environmentalists. They're often unrealistic wing-nuts, but they live what they passionately believe in. Forget Ronald McDonald peddling recyclable Whopper cartons. Give me a guy in non-leather shoes and a banana-leaf shirt chaining himself to an old growth fir tree to stop the bulldozers.

There's some things we can't trust to the Fortune 500. The environment's one of them.

Tim Krohn is a Free Press staff writer. The truth of the matter is that “Network Marketing” is a good opportunity to expand ones horizons. Consider this; “Man's mind, once stretched to a new idea, never goes back to its original dimensions” Oliver Wendell Holmes.
When the economy takes a downward turn as it is at present, network marketing is one area of the economy that continues to grow. Combine that with a network marketing company that produces high quality “Green” “Environmentally Friendly” “Non-Toxic” consumable products (products that are used on a daily basis) i.e. soap, shampoo, dish washing liquid, laundry liquid, glass cleaner and the list goes on, you have a perfect opportunity to start your own home based business.
A good network marketing company with a good business plan can give a person business training, experience working with people, more self-confidence and also teaches the fundamentals of and demonstrates the building and maintaining of a network.
BioGreen Systems Inc. is one such company. By simply changing some of our everyday habits we not only see that we can have a part in preserving the environment, but by “going green” we can, actually, save some “green”.

At times I have heard some say that “going green” is expensive. My question is “How much is your health, the health of your family and the health of the environment worth?” Priceless! Think about it… Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, is what we are encouraged to do. Doing these things is easy, costs absolutely nothing and all it takes from us is a little bit of effort on our part.

Another way of “going green” and saving “green”, is by changing our buying habits. When we choose to purchase “green products” for our everyday needs we can learn how easy and economical this can be. Since most “green products” are highly concentrated and multi-purposed, they last longer and cover more uses than their toxic counterparts that you may now be using and, as a result, will save you money. BioGreen Systems offers a complete line of “green” cleaning and laundry products that will definitely save you money while at the same time keeping your home and the environment safe. Here are just a few examples of the many uses of BioGreen Systems “Green” products:

BioGreen Laundry Liquid: Costs only 18 cents to 36 cents per wash load! (Per wash load use just 1 oz. for hard water or ½ oz. for soft water.)

Use a couple of drops of the Laundry Liquid in a bucket of water, add a capful of Fabric Conditioner for a mopping solution that results in a streak free floor. You can also wash your car with this same solution.

BioGreen Fabric Conditioner: Costs about 15 cents per wash load!

Mixed 10:1 with water in a spray bottle, makes an incredible ironing spray, making fabrics easy to iron, with a light starch-like finish.

Mixed 5:1 with water, it makes a great furniture polish, by giving a high shine and decreasing dust attraction. You can use it on your floor dusters and dust mops, also.

BioGreen’s POW: One 2lb. container makes 60 gallons of cleaning solution at just 25 cents per gallon!

POW is an incredible, high energy, oxygen based cleaner. It cleans, removes stains and deodorizes virtually every washable surface. Use it as a tile cleaner, spot remover, laundry bleach alternative, mold and mildew cleaner, in your dishwasher and the list goes on.

To learn more uses for all of BioGreen’s fantastic, economical “green products” check out the "Green" Alternatives page at our website: Going Green 2Day.

Super re-Leaf Gel Really Works

It’s truly wonderful to hear about the relief this couple receives from using BioGreen Systems’ Super re-Leaf Gel. I don’t think they actually know what a fad is. The definition of a fad is… “Something that is very popular with a small group of people for a short period of time.”

Maybe, in the case of some of the big businesses, it is just a fad and nothing more than a marketing opportunity for them. It may be a fad for some individuals, whose only purpose for “going green” is just because everyone else is doing it. When you really look around, though, you can see there are many companies and individuals who have made “going green” an essential part of their businesses and their lives, for many years. And others, who may have just recently started “going green”, are sincerely doing everything they possibly can to fulfill their commitment to preserve the environment. So, to say “going green” is just a fad is certainly incorrect.

BioGreen Systems is one such company whose values and concerns, from their very beginning, has been to manufacture & provide high quality, non-toxic, green products. This “Green Movement” has not gone unnoticed by big business. It’s commendable to try and do our part, be it one person or a large corporation. There are companies that have been “Green” from their inception and there are also companies that are moving in that direction.
Unfortunately, we as consumers must be on the watch for “Greenwashing” by some businesses. Of course not all companies are guilty of this, but it makes a person wonder when you go into a store and see the flood of new “Green” products and right next to them is the entire line of dangerous toxic products, offered by the same companies. Are these companies genuinely trying to move toward being “Green” or are they just trying to capitalize on a situation with only monetary goals in mind, i.e. “Hey, we can make a bundle of money here if we claim to be Green”.
We as a family choose to use products from BioGreen Systems, a company that’s been “Green” from its very beginning. The most important thing we must remember is that the worst thing we can do is nothing. Since there are so many easy ways for any of us to “go green” there is no reason to not make an effort to do so.

Probably one of the simplest ways to “go green”, is to just switch your buying habits on the things that you are now already purchasing on a regular basis, at your local stores. Everyone, no matter who they are or where they live, washes their clothes, cleans their homes, takes a shower, washes their hair, and the list goes on. By starting here, in our homes, we not only help make them safer, we also have a positive impact on the environment.

No need to be concerned that “green products” are going to cost more than the products you’re now using. “Green products” are generally highly concentrated and many are mixed with water before using. (Example: BioGreen’s EcoPure, mixed 20 to 1 with water, costs just 50 cents per quart!) Since “green products” are so concentrated, they require less packaging and less fuel to ship, and as a result have less of an impact on the environment.

“Green Products” also have multiple uses, so they can tackle more cleaning tasks than traditional, non-green cleaners. So, the more jobs a cleaner can do, the fewer products you need to buy, again another way to save you money and cut waste. Check out the multiple uses for BioGreen's products at our website: Going Green 2Day.

“Going Green”…The Right Thing to Do

It seems everywhere we turn, in the media, the entertainment world and big business, we are hearing about the importance of “Going Green”. Most of us are fully aware of the importance of recycling and conserving energy as a valuable way we can help preserve the environment. We may not realize, though, that there are other, very simple ways we can have a share in protecting and preserving the environment.

Think about it…each and everyday we ALL have the opportunity to not only protect our family’s health, by the choices we make, but by making the right choices we are able to protect our environment. Remember, each and every one of us is a part of the environment, so whatever we do to the environment, we do to ourselves.

We may ask ourselves, “What can we do that will actually make a difference?” As one person or one family, we may not be able to change the world, but we can have a share in protecting and preserving our little part of the world, our homes. With the world’s focus on protecting the environment and “going green”, it’s only logical that we start in our own homes. By “going green” in our homes we not only cause our homes to be safer for our families, we also have an impact on preserving the environment that surrounds us. One way that we can do this is by carefully choosing the products we use on an everyday basis and simply switching to using safe, non-toxic, “green products”.

Because of my desire to provide a safe home for my family and protect the environment, I was very excited when I was introduced to the BioGreen Systems product line. I am proud to be a part of a company whose mission is to provide meaningful solutions to the health problems created in today's toxic environment and sharing in the preservation of the environment. BioGreen manufactures and distributes a complete line of reasonably priced, highly effective, non- toxic, “green products”. The products that are available from BioGreen Systems will replace every toxic product you now have in your home, from cleaning, to laundry and personal care products.

This blog is dedicated to providing information on how, by just making simple changes in our buying habits, we can take one step towards having a share in protecting the environment. It will also be providing information on how, if you choose, you can start earning extra money from home without spending any extra money, just by the use of these products and sharing them with others.
